V.I.P. GREEN FOR MOTHER'S DAY

Pink, we all know it means HOPE for the cures.  And this year, we're adding a second color...green...the color of empowerment against breast cancer.  Every person that officially registers for the 2012 Komen Philadelphia Race for the Cure will receive a green wristband to wear on Race Day, entitling you to special V.I.P. services, perks, and surprises.  Each registration adds to our success, so please share this news with everyone you know who plans to attend the event and encourage them to make their presence on Race Day really count!  V.I.P. perks include (but may not be limited to): V.I.P. lines for the Wawa Tent, , and 'Spot Prizes' from Macy's and other generous sponsors.

INTRODUCING KIDS FOR THE CURE: UNITEDHEALTHCARE KIDS 'DASH TO MAKE A DIFFERENCE'

The Komen Kids generation is continually growing in their desire to help fight breast cancer.  So, for the first time ever, the Komen Philadelphia Affiliate is giving kids their very own Race event - the Dash to Make a Difference, sponsored by UnitedHealthcare.

Although we call it the Kids Dash, this mini-event is really for kids and parents, and offers a unique way for adults to reinforce to their children that they don't need to ever be afraid of breast cancer because they are never alone in the fight...and they DO have the power to help make a difference!

Dash Facts:

  • Open to all children ages 3-12 years who are registered for the Race; no additional fee
  • At least one adult must be registered for the Race and attend the Dash with his/her child(ren)
  • Location: Von Colln Park and Playground (23rd & Benjamin Franklin Parkway)
  • Start time 10:00 AM, after the main Race event
  • Separate heats based on age group
  • Everyone's a winner! All participants will receive a commemorative medal, a special Dash/Race t-shirt, treats from Dietz & Watson and Wawa, and other fun surprizes!

Online registration is open now.  Click here to register yourself and your child for the 2012 Race.
