Take your 2012 Komen Philadelphia Race for the Cure participation to the real finish line by continuing to raise funds for the cause. All moneys submitted by June 1, 2012 will be counted for prize/reward determination, as well as Bernie Ashner Team Fundraising Challenge winners.

TEAM FUNDRAISING TIPS

We encourage all Team members to utilize these tools and tips to ensure fundraising success:

  • How-To Video
  • A personal Race Center and Personal Fundraising page
  • Email capacity to correspond with others
  • The BoundlessFundraising Facebook App

Check Your Order: Ensure Proper Individual and Team Credit for Fundraising

  • Each participant must have provided the correct Team name when he/she registered. All funds raised on his/her account will automatically be added to the Team total as well.
  • All funds must be submitted with a completed donation form.
  • Online donations can be made by clicking on Make a Donation.
  • Donations submitted in person or by mail must be accompanied by a completed donation form.

Double Your Donations with Matching Gift Programs

Ask your employer and supporters about a Matching Gift program. Forms are usually available through the Human Resources department - and can double or possibly even triple your donation:

  • Obtain a form, complete it, and attach it to the donation check. Matching Gift forms from participants and their supporters must be accompanied by completed donation forms.
  • Submit a separate donation form for each Matching Gift form.
  • Online supporters can submit a Matching Gift form through you or directly to the Komen Philadelphia Affiliate office. They must attach a copy of the online donation confirmation and a completed donation form indicating the individual/Team to be supported.
  • Check out a partial list of matching gift companies to get started.

More Quick Tips

  • Learn where the money goes, so you can inspire fellow Team members and donors to support you.
  • Be the first donor on your list by personally donating $25 when you register.
  • Ask everyone you know to sponsor you. Most people will donate simply because they are asked!
  • Use the power of the internet. Encourage all Team members to utilize their Race Centers, email accounts, and Facebook pages as fundraising tools.
  • Have a friendly competition with your Teammates to see who can raise the most each week.
  • Contact your local news and see if they will do a story on an upcoming Team fundraiser!
  • Post the donation form on your office or classroom door so supporters can sign up anytime.
  • Ask a local business to sponsor your Team. Put their name on your t-shirt in return for having posters, donation boxes, or even a Team fundraiser in their establishment.

How do I pick up prizes and/or reward(s)?

To help assure every possible penny of our community's Race for the Cure fundraising is used to advance the breast cancer movement, fundraising and performance rewards and prizes WILL NOT be mailed to recipients.

If you did not pick up your prize/reward on Race weekend, you can do so at the Komen Philadelphia Affiliate office, 125 South 9th Street, 2nd Floor, Philadelphia, PA 19107. For your convenience, we recommend parking areas at 9th & Samson Streets, or 10th & Samson Streets, as parking outside The Affiliate office is extremely limited.

There are two post-Race pickup opportunities:

  • Wednesday, July 25, 2012: 8:00 AM - 6:00 PM
  • Thursday, July 26, 2012: 12:00 noon - 7:00 PM

Please note:

  • Fundraising prize winners will be declared after all monies received by June 1 are tabulated.
  • Each person is limited to one prize category and there are no duplicate awards for performance prizes.
  • Prizes/rewards not claimed during these pick-up times will be retained and used for future Komen Philadelphia Affiliate fundraising/outreach events.
